Yeah no we’re not finishing this book. I can’t stand the writing style. It’s very hard for me to understand— not because it’s complex or written in a challenging manner, but because it’s so vague and quick. Maybe if I got farther in, things would clear up, but this initial confusion is lasting too long and making me frustrated

I've got a super janky ebook copy that runs together paragraphs and even words sometimes. This makes it even more difficult to get a firm handle of what's happening in a book that seems to generally have that effect on people. I may come back to this when the print copy comes in from the library. Maybe I'll finally start Malazan in the meantime, idk.
