The “make up is false advertising” crowd is literally medieval:
“In the twelfth century, at least two theologians…tackled the hard question of what, exactly, men should do if they engaged a sex worker in good faith, only to find out later that she had been wearing make up. Both enlightened minds agreed that in such a case, the clients who hired such women would have in fact been duped.”
