Com estrelas nos olhos e céus nos cabelos, com cíclames e violetas selvagens- que absurdo ele estava pensando? Ela tinha cinquenta anos, no mínimo; tinha oito filhos. Andando em meio a campos de flores e apertando contra o seio botões que se quebraram e cordeiros que caíram; com as estrelas em seus olhos e o vento em seus cabelos. Ele estava com a bolsa dela.

This is my first Virginia Woolf book. It took me a life time (literally) to get through the first thirty pages. I have picked it up many times throughout the years and abandoned it after a couple of pages. This time I am half way through and I have slowly fallen in love. It’s contemplative, philosophical and yet mundane, and above all it’s beautifully written.
