Technically a DNF, listening to the last 45min would be a complete waste of time bc def not continuing this series. Started off fine, but hugely disappointing in the stupidity of FMC and the MMC, bc he’s her doormat (who doesn’t have consistent morals.. like this man murders without a thought but all of a sudden love changes him? Bffr). 2 stars and that’s feeling generous.

Upped the speed from 1.26 to 1.4 (she’s a fast reader) bc I literally don’t care about what’s going on in this book. Don’t like the characters/characterizations and the plot is snooze-worthy… like where’s the GRIT? Soren/the commander is the only slightly interesting person here (he drinks blood?!) but he’s surrounded by idiots (Norah’s like a lame Aelin and we know how I feel about her lol)

Was on board w the simple premise in the beginning, but then it turned into ACOMAF x Danaerys Targaryen fanfiction, lmao. Will finish it but not really liking it. Don’t usually take issue w FMCs but Norah is so fucking dumb/irritating, which is a shame bc the narration is excellent for her & Alexander.. but now we’ve thrown a Rhysand clone into the mix.

Less growling, more colonialist capers. I need to finish this so I can purge this book from my psyche and hateread the next one for lulz.
