Status Updates From Sophocles I: Oedipus The Ki...

Finished the discussion of Antigone before starting the actual play. I am impressed, really!

oedipus at colonus done! i liked this less than oedipus rex, and i didn't quite understand why oedipus changed his mind here about his exile and whatnot. but he for sure is a compelling character and has a strong presence. also i notice that sophocles is witty and often snarky with his dialogue in a ways that neither aeschylus nor even euripides are (though it may be a matter of translation)

oedipus rex done! a "tragedy of knowledge" for sure. i really liked all the premonitions and hints, and how fate's knot tightened bit by bit
