Status Updates From This Fiery Splendor

If I have a "feeling" that something will happen or a prediction comes to mind, I like to record it. I predict that the husband of the Hs former fiancée will try to get the H killed on his dangerous mission that involves the posing as a Muslim to cross through enemy territory in 1850s India during the Sepoy Mutiny.

The h is just horrible to the H! Really treating him badly! She doesn't deserve him!

The H has just ceded his inheritance of a Baronetcy to younger bro and given up his dreams and of marrying his longtime love, Miss Longstreet and of entering politics to go chasing off to India to track down the h. He be in luuurve.

Now we are in the midst of the long separation between the h/H.

This h, who is newly turned 17 (a lot of present-day HR readers don't like young chits as h's) is too wise, too mature for her age. However, she has spent approx 16 yrs in Asia w/missionary parents instead of sheltered life in England, so it works for me.

I'm enjoying this so far.

It's been uneven but very readable. Weirdly, it's like a reverse The Duke of Shadows: England first half, 1857 India second half. Will take one for the team n post a review tonite.
