Status Updates From Maurice

Chapter 2: Maurice comes home and is greeted by his mother and sisters - his father is away with work. It shows an interesting dynamic; nothing inherently wrong nor traumatic in the background that usually goes with queer characters. He is comfortable, with loving family and servants. Yet, thinks and asks of a boy named George, a servant boy that left. He even thought of him before he slept.

Chapter 1: Introductory of Maurice having a talk with one of his teachers before he is to move to a public school. He has the ‘talk’ with him - sex - and explains to him how being a man should be. Hence explaining the great wonders of being a man as he is growing up. I find it interesting how Maurice calls him a ‘liar’ and ‘coward’ in the end, having ‘told me nothing’.
