The ledge (12th story) : this was mid. Not much of a story, but kind of a thriller, the end was nice.

Finished "One For the Road"! Two years after Tookey's death, Booth still has nightmares about his encounter with Lumley's wife and daughter in 'Salem's Lot. He encourages any travelers to Maine to have a drink at Tookey's Bar and avoid 'Salem's Lot, especially after dark. Overall, great story! Glad to see 'Salem's Lot revisited after Ben and Mark burned it down. Too bad there are still vampires, though.

Just started reading the nineteenth story, "One For the Road". During a snowstorm, bartender Herb Tooklander and his pal Booth meet a guy named Gerard Lumley, who needs help rescuing his wife and daughter after crashing his car on the way to 'Salem's Lot. Tookey and Booth drive him there, but his wife and daughter are already vampires. The two get Lumley and almost get Booth but are subdued with Tookey's Bible.
