I like the premise but the hero keeps up this inner monologue of how intriguing he finds the heroine and I can’t figure out why. They’ve barely been in each other’s presence and only spoken a few words to each other. It feels forced, like the hero is intrigued by her because he must be, because he somehow knows she’s the heroine of the story.
