Benieuwd waar de rel over de hertaling over ging. Dit leest vlot weg, tot zover. Het verhaaltje in de inleiding over dat Jacob van Lennep met opzet alleen een dure editie uitbracht, zodat het volk niet in oproer kwam.

Dezelfde Jacob van Lennep die eerder vraagtekens stelde bij scholing van eenvoudige mensen. Ze zouden eens op ideeën kunnen komen.

Multatuli heeft 15 jaar moeten knokken voor een betaalbare versie.
