Status Updates From Dear Bartleby

So........ the letters (epistolary style) of the first book in the series low-key annoyed me. I think because it feels more removed from the actual story. But this one, even though you could claim it's in the same epistolary style, does NOT make me feel that way. Since it's a journal, it's just like reading first person... sort of. I don't *love* that action is all reported after the fact, but I'm far more invested!
