This is one of Pynchon’s more readable books. It’s hilarious. Just taking break to catch my breath after the mention of going into an alternate universes?!

I'm taking a break from this until I finish Gravity's Rainbow. Even though the prose is more straightforward, it's a more difficult read, because the plot is so diffuse. And the western sections are a slog to get through. Christopher Priest's The Prestige gave me more of what I was looking for from this.
