Peter Singer gives a good overview of Marx when it comes to biographical information as well as his works, especially Hegel’s influence on Marx, but when it comes to appraising Marx he seems to be out of his depth, would have liked to hear less of his own biases and presumptions, not sure why he was chosen to write this
