So far this is your classic average 'magical' story where the MC doesn't know/believe in magic but their parent is magical and they instantly have a new magical group or person that they hang out with who tells them about the magical world. I've read something very similar to this except that book had more originality. So yeah not the best :')

Think this book might be actual trash. I have no idea how I read this when I was younger. Weird gay stereotyping, body shaming, slut shaming and overall inconsistencies :(
