I know it’s important to be a good friend, but dumb old Edmund Wilson tells F Scott in a letter dated 5/26/1922 that this okay is one of the best things he has ever written and goes on to claim,
“As I say, I think that the play as a whole is marvelous—no doubt the best American comedy ever written.”
