I'm just having a hard time getting into this. I love how bleak the atmosphere of the beginning of this novel is, but every character besides Ahkmed and Havaa come off as so unbearably unlikable. Khassan especially annoys me because why is he such an awful father? Dear lord I hope this book will click with me as I continue reading because right now, eh....
