Netflix needs to re-add this show. Gotta binge it before the new season. Reading these are so fun though.

Monkey Business: All in all not the most heavy issue. But tons of action for the kids to get excited over.

"Uncommon Dominators":Love using the term, 'fratricide' in a children's comic! These baddies seem pretty similar to the baddies in Atlantis... Also, mentioning Streetcar Named Desire in a kids comic? I love how Weisman doesn't dumb down comics for kids. All in all, a pretty good issue. I found it busy and entertaining.

"Common Denominators": Tiny bit of a filler issue. I do like seeing the dynamics of the kids and their mentors. I think that's always fun, and creates the world outside of what we're reading. We know this all taking place while the other three are underwater so it's nice to know the world keeps turning even when characters aren't on screen.

"Here There Be Monsters": I love how this story plants the seeds for the Tornados. It really builds up the tension. In the show, it feels like they just show up, but looping them through the arc is an awesome way to get the point across. I also enjoy how the heroes think that the issue is over, but that nothing is necessarily solved in the big picture.

"Under the Surface": It was an interesting issue. It brings up diversity and prejudices, which is great for kids to learn about. I think it really fills in the gap as to WHY Queen Mera was under attack. The tv show just shows us the attack but the motive isn't always as clear. I also like that we met more Atlantean friends. We see more of Kaldur and his home life, which is neat.

Robin, Kid Flash and Artemis with their mentors were the best! Though I admit Kobra is not on my list of favourite villains, so the ending was not that great (I'm like KF, I'm not into those 'magic' stuff- I don't want to spoil anything). Yes, the plot was cool, but I don't dig it ̶t̶h̶a̶t̶ ̶m̶u̶c̶h̶.
3,5 stars to the issues #16 & #17.
