OK, now that we're finally into the MEAT of the story, it's a more enjoyable read. However, the constant shifting from one world to another is confusing.

I'm not sure if I'm enjoying this or clinging to the hope that I'll enjoy it because it's Canadian content. I would make the CBC proud, at any rate. :p

I studied linguistics in university and I'm confused by all the Latin being incorporated into the use of language! I understand the whole world building thing, but I am hoping that the author has the skills to pull off this kind of immersion...
