The chapter about Bad Medicine is so tough to read. You want to think that doctors are understanding of all of their patients but all of the impatience and neglect involved in these patient experiences calls attention to how much we need to hear stories of disabled people.

This book can be so tough to read sometimes but it highlights the struggles that people who lose two senses at once face adjusting to the changes, losing support from family and friends, and struggle to find a career that accommodates their abilities. This is a very enlightening read, hard to get through, but important to understand the importance of deaf-blind communication and advocacy.

Very eye-opening book about life growing up deaf-blind.
