Shy or rude? I would also say I am anxious in social situations but somehow had to tell me, quite directly, that my reticence may come of as arrogance or rudeness. Maybe I am too introverted to equate silence to rudeness? I also go back over social situations but I would usually think I looked stupid or weird, don't think I ever thought I could look arrogant. Low-esteem, maybe? Something to think about...
