If this was a book published in 2025, it would just be okay. But since this was published in the 80's, it's really incredible how Butler is writing gender and sexuality in a way that holds up to our modern understanding. I'm really curious how this is all going to end.

Sci-fi isn't usually my thing, but thought I'd give Octavia Butler a shot. I'm honestly surprised this was published in the 80's! It feels very modern.
