I’ve given up on what could have been a great novel because the plot seemed wunderbar. I actually started this book as an audiobook and CONSTANTLY hearing the islamophobic undercurrent was emotionally draining not to mention the inaccuracies of the particulars. I suggest the author do better research..

This books reads Like Himmlers manual to propaganda. It paints the Iranian people as religious fanatics coexisting without any semblance of thought or critical thinking. It irks me and I’m not even Iranian. Can I just mention that Iran has one of the highest rates of female university graduates in the world.
Sigh.

So far I am enjoying this novel. My only criticism so far would be that the majority of the plot has been devoted to not the main characters, which is kind of weird. I'm still enjoying it. I like to support Australian talent.
