Hooked already. Older books like this have a writing style that ties the present in with the background so the exposition doesnt feel so heavy handed. Im learning about the background through the conversations and events of the present.

I also like how Reuben uses technology to make better sense of his new abilities.

So far, I’m liking that it’s a werewolf story set along the California coast.

Technically, I started this last night (yay Werewolf Wednesday! 😁💕), b/c I’ve been curious about Anne’s take on werewolves. I borrowed the hardback & audio versions from my library.

Ron McLarty is the “voice” of Reuben, and overall narrator for the audiobook, so far he’s doing a good job.
