I've had it up to here with reading about this abusive relationship. It's like a public service broadcast with all the characters saying exactly the right thing. About the only time ever I've been glad to see hints for a love triangle.

Oh great, yeah, let's have a gay male character who we know is gay because he likes to wear glittery skirts. How progressive.

Is the plot line for this book just Owen's an asshole because the portal thing is really boring and going nowhere.

As if the bad writing, boring story and the abusive boyfriend who's obviously going to be a villain wasn't enough, we have introduced a boy who likes wearing skirts and bold colors who is obviously GAY just look at him he's GAY. But not trans because they can't have operations so there's no point in being trans.

What the fuck is this book?

I'm really not feeling this. It's just so... boring.

Every time Owen opens his mouth, I want to punch him. He's so awful to Nora. Which I realize is the point, but still!

Nora, Maddie, and Sawyer sound like eleven-year-olds. I'm getting annoyed, considering the only character I care about is Catling.

Owen's a jerk, and I don't trust this Phoebe lady. Nora's super naive, but she's only 15.

I don't think I realized what I got myself into but I'm waiting for the ending to see what becomes of it all. The universe of Helicon is very interesting, I'll say that.
