Status Updates From The Boy Who Led Them

The book appears to be small and short but it's actually too long due to small font size But highly interesting...

I was a little sad to get this close to the end of the book, with a good story in progress, then all of a sudden, enter the East India Trading Company and a love interest named Elizabeth Swan... That's straight out of Pirates of the Caribbean

I think maybe a change in the way the middle of the story was told might have made the going a little more exciting. Things are picking back up now that the link between the past and present is coming together

The story here is really good - but, as per my previous update, there is a multi-chapter stretch where a man at the local museum is telling Stan the story of Jacob Swift. I think this section would have been better if the author had started with the docent telling Stan the story, but transitioned back into Swift's story as present-tense. I think that would have made it a bit more exciting.

The first several chapters plunge the reader straight into the middle of the lives of two boys, centuries apart - Jacob Swift in 1792, and Stanley in the present. At this point in the book, Stan is being given a history on Jacob Swift from a docent at a local museum. The story has shifted a little, but it's still very good.

This is starting off to be a very promising adventure story. The first two paragraphs make you feel like you are standing on the ship's deck watching the events in person.
