Status Updates From The Complete Short Stories ...

'The Death of Halpin Frayser' is such a ghoulish story, I loved it.

Turns out it's hard to plow through several dozen 19th century short stories in a row. Bierce's prose is wonderful though, so it's worth it, even if much of the 'horror' is in the realm of 'that's a ghost you saw' or 'that person disappeared' and doesn't go any further than that.
