The first book is a 3.5 star for how Laura Sebastian brings you into this world where civilisations are conquered and the oppressed seek vengeance. The main character grows and develops complicated feelings for two young men, both with their faults. I feel like this book is a promise of what is to come, as opposed to revealing its secrets too soon.
