So relieving to read work that has a deep appreciation for child psychology, whimsy, and heart. Exactly what I need to be reading for inspiration especially in the realm of short fiction. Very masterful as a short story: simple premise, but so much to feel and dissect. There’s an air of melancholia that is so interesting here, perhaps my favorite part about it.
