Status Updates From I Can Almost See the Clouds...

I am not someone who really "gets" poetry so translated poetry can be even more impenetrable. Some of these poems didn't work for me at all and I could tell I wasn't picking up on the metaphor or the true meaning

Don't know if it's the translation but there's no sense of rhyme, meter, etc. but at least reading it in my head, there is a cadence and flow to the free verse. There's a quiet elegance that at least feels like a novel with some sense of pacing

After the disorientingly tortured language of the intro, the poems are strangely more legible with only a few pretentious word choices that seem questionable... mostly they give a feeling, with a few lovely phrases or evocative ideas without being straightforward or fully comprehensible but you do get an impression/mood from each one
