Status Updates From Angel Exterminatus

I have issues, as per usual, with Graham McNeill's style of writing battle scenes, and his characterization of Fulgrim. Surprisingly though, Perturabo is still really cool. This is his book as much as it is Fulgrim's.

It has not picked the pace back up. The most compelling plotline is Perturabo trying to figure out when and how Fulgrim is gonna betray him.

Perturabo is really well written! And Emperor's Children are great twisted villains. The writing mercifully picks up towards the end of the "book" (part 2). Hopefully that keeps being a trend, the pacing feels excessively slow otherwise.

Same deal so far: the Perturabo and Fulgrim stories are well written and fun to read, while the Iron Hands struggle very hard to become compelling, at all. I find myself glancing over those sections until we can get the next section from the perspective of some Iron Warrior (or Lucius, I really like his POV once again)

Definitely dragging at this point. Way too long for the story it's trying to tell here.

I almost can't believe this is the same Graham McNeill from Fulgrim. Really good writing.

This is already really well written. I really like it!
