So far in 2025 I have read two books on prayer. I did not expect this to be a third. Rayburn certainly wasn’t focused on prayer as he wrote his stories from Korea but the theme of prayer and God’s faithfulness to answer prayer is a common theme for Rayburns stories.
There’s probably a balance needed with the “I’m a warrior for Christ” mentality but oh how many need to hear this prospective.

Chaplain Rayburn made his very first parachute jump behind the enemy lines near Munsan, Korea, without any previous training in parachuting. The account of his experiences brings out forcibly the reality of a living Saviour who provides moment-by-moment guidance and help for the one who will trust Him.

Dr. Rayburn takes some thrilling experiences which were his as a paratrooper chaplain and uses them to illustrate most strikingly not only the Gospel but also the way in which a Christian is to live a victorious life and the mans which God has provided for this victory.
