Re- Reading this one. It's not everyone's cup of tea, but I love her writing. So many sentences describing situations and emotions stop you in your tracks because they're so recognisable.

Tonight is the first night of trying The Silent Book Club, a book club with a difference. We're not told what book to read and there's no discussion, just a cosy space to read for pleasure and maybe have a chat afterwards.

Nine more chapters left, what a breeze to read. The choice to not punctuate direct speech is cloying but I've read enough to not mind as much. All I hope is that it reaches a neat resolution, I do not think this is a book that would benefit from uncertainty , it would make it seem undercooked . Whereas a conclusive ending in my opinion would soften its edges and justify some of its questionable vagueness
