A year later. Ginny is in hospital from attempting suicide, feeling ugly. Valerie and Jessica present a time capsule at graduation with a brief biography on each victim and a small momento. Jessica also includes Nick and Valerie… which makes Valerie cry. Valerie does decide she will look into college and has begun to become “herself” again

Val and Jennifer hang out more with the committee for the commemoration as well eating lunch together. Jennifer invited her to a party where a brother of one of the victims threatened her with an empty gun. She realizes she was selfish when she visited the grave of Nick and speaks with his bestie Duce. Duce tells her she didn’t ask about any of them after and he was also investigated.

Valerie’s mom has wavered between pushing her away (believing she was involved) and pulling her close. Her dad pushed her away. Her friend Stacey visited her in hospital to insinuate her guilty by association. She heals physically and is sent to the psychiatric ward for 10 days because of the emails between her and Nick talking about death/suicide. Most of what’s happening feels dreamlike still for her.

Valerie has relived the day of the shooting when her bf started to kill people on their hate list. First the be shot was Christy Bruter in the abdomen. Mr Kline was shot standing in front of Jessica, Nick shoots Lei so the others leave. Val reveals how she tried to save Jessica Campbell by rushing Nick and she would up being shot in the leg and blacking out. Day one at school Jessica invited her to her lunch table
