i really like it; theres this very unique narrator which is quite intriguing. additionally, the story is familiar and yet it is so far from the disney movie and everything ive heard of peter pan. its quite a dark spin actually, with (among other things) death, loss and ignorance. by every turn of a page i am surprised of the unexpected descriptions and the very wild fantasy of the author:)

it's good so far, quite feministic considering the timeperiod: Wendy when Peter tried to stick his shadow back on with soap "how exactly like a boy!" + "Wendy, one girl is more use than twelve boys" + When Peter is explaining why there are no girls in Neverland: "girls are much too clever to fall out of their prams". and this is just in the first 70 pages. additionally, the story is beginning to get a bit scary...

This book is very witty and dark. I remember finding it confusing as a kid, and I’m now very sympathetic to that response.

Hayes really loved the movie and I just found a hard copy of this in my library that I didn't know we had! One chapter in and he's begging to get to the parts with Captain Hook but I'm loving this. It's pretty hilariously written!

I love all adaptions of Peter Pan (except Pan but that one shouldn't even be considered bc its a horrible movie)
