I finished this book about an hour ago, but I'm still not sure about my thoughts on it overall. I'll sleep on it and hopefully post my review tomorrow.

HOLY PLOT TWIST BATMAN! I DID NOT SEE THAT COMING. This book seriously has me feeling all the feels, and I'm perfectly okay with that - but at the same time I'm really not!

AMAZING. This book is so much hotter and more steamy that the first one! I love Emilia's character so much and I'm so intrigued to find out about her past. I don't know how I'm going to get through tomorrow without being able to read more! (There have been a few spelling errors, but I can overlook them due to the quality of the story.)

I read the sample of this as soon as I finished Every Which Way, but I had to stop reading so that I could focus on an exam. I'm so glad I can get back to it now though! I find it strange that Ms Read changed from 3rd person past tense to 1st person present tense and dual POV, but I definitely think it reads better and I feel like I'm connecting more with the characters.

This is the love child Walking Disaster had with the last two seasons of Gossip Girl. I weep for the ink that has been spilled.

These characters are pathetic. I'm so glad I'm nearly done. There will be rage, all right.

God, the sex is so bad. Every detail is described repeatedly. Oh, and remember in Fifty Shades, when Ana gives her very first blowjob and it's the best action Christian's ever had? Yeah, that. Macsen nearly comes by just touching Emilia's breast. "Sexy whispers" everwhere, which just lolwut. They are both major screamers and then they're surprised when the roommate says something about it. Really.

He steps forward, looking desperate. His hands latch onto my hair as he whispers, “There’s a party going on outside this room, right now. I don’t want anyone else to walk in!”

Because nothing says "whisper" like putting an exclamation point at the end of your sentence.

Oh dear lord, they're getting hot and bothered over reading scenes from The Bronze Horseman. Yup.

Ooooh noooo waaaay. The guy she hates is going to tutor her. Guess they'll be in love by the next chapter. FML.

Everything clicks together after that. I suddenly have a vision of Haley's future and filled with nothing but cats.

Don't you love it that one unrequited crush indicates you'll be single for the rest of your life? Haley is just the emotional punching bag for everyone in this series and it's disgusting.

Aspiring writers, here's a tip: when you have a dual narrative (girl/guy), you can differentiate the voices by having Him throw in a "fuck" every three sentences. Girls don't do that. Bonus points if you make the girl super weepy and melodramatic. Because gender.
