“Suffering digs to the very core of your soul and tests you, far below the shallowness of who you previously thought God was. Suffering asks, Are you really going to trust the Lord? Are you really going to worship the Lord? Are you really going to serve Him?

“The joy of the Lord indeed was our strength. That joy was possible because joy does not come from circumstances that can change with the result of a test or a sudden pain. Joy comes from having a relationship with the unchanging God and transcends any trial we can face on earth.”

This was an amazing book to listen to, to here his story of how God brought him thru the death of his first wife and then meeting his new wife and the family they have but mainly how God carried him thru ever trial. I would so recommend this book to anyone that needed to be uplifted
