This book, unfortunately, increases to irritate me the closer I get to the conclusion. I lost it when Augustine began to argue, for ~30 pages, that heaven is a creature with an intellect and a mind, and pulled Bible verses out of context to argue such.

Augustine's doctrine of creation is so fascinating. Love how he approaches topics. He lost me for a bit with the whole discussion of time 😵 but we're so back. Finishing strong ✊

Augustine got converted thank God. This book has so many golden moments and yet I find (especially after his conversion at the half-way point) it is plagued more often than I like to admit with tangential philosophical matters of no consequence. I hope the remaining 100 pages are mostly gold with no fluff.
