Status Updates From Nou contes

Actually surprised with the first three short stories. Think the first and second are my favourites so far.

This is another book hitting the shelf of ‘no desire to finish’ even if it is considered ‘great writing’ or ‘the most perfectly balanced collection of short stories’, it leaves me cold. He will sit alongside Jude the Obscure (rampant misogyny) and Lolita (disgusting child abuse). I accept that there is great writing in all of these cited examples, there is little else to distinguish these works. Moving on
