Also, the MC is barely a character + there is instalove. I can't see this being more than 3 stars at best (and is currently wavering between 2 and 3), thus this is, sadly, a DNF for me.

I am, however, very curious to try more stories by the author, as I enjoyed the prose and her writing style.

The setting is really interesting (as is the premise), the writing is lovely and the author is doing a great job as a narrator. That being said, there are problematic things that I will not overlook - villainous chars exclusively being described as what is considered conventionally ugly while good chars are described as being conventionally pretty, women hating other women, "not like other girls" trope.

DNF this book had a massive twist that changes the trajectory of the story. I was very interested in what was happening before, but the new twist has left me caring much less.

It started off strong! Now I’m a bit bored, need her to pick up the pace some or let’s just wrap it up.
