In a very exhaustingly researched and unflattering biography, with the aim of dispelling the myths that surround its subject, it really gives you pause when the author asserts without much hesitation that Malaparte is the one who invented the turtleneck with blazer look.

I have been looking forward to this book for a while now. I'm very much impressed that Malaparte shaved his underarms, the back of his hands, and legs.
