Genuine compassion and love do not regard what kind of attitude the other has toward you. Rather, on the basis of realizing that others are just like oneself- they too want happiness, they too do not want suffering, and they also have the right to overcome suffering- on that basis, one can develop a true sense of concern. There is genuine love and compassion which is not biased and even extends toward one's enemy.
