Ah, yep, de Lint is trying to do a modern take on Robin Hood. With all the modern misunderstandings one would expect. "Robin stole from the rich to give to the poor!" Kiiiiiiiinda, in that he was stealing from TAX COLLECTORS to give the excessive TAX MONEY back to the people being EXCESSIVELY TAXED by their oppressive illegitimate king. He wasn't just rocking up to a local Baron and robbing him for being a 1%er.
