Great section on East and West views on baptism, and how they both agreed that baptism by schismatics and heretics was not valid. As long as the priest performing baptism is under the one true church, the baptism is valid, even if that priest has some heretical views (and as long as he wasn’t deposed).

Page 118 has a great review on the chapter, listing the main points of the ecumenical councils and when they determined how baptism should be performed for heretics coming to the faith.
