Because the movie is coming out next year, looks amazing, and I forgot the manga, it's time to read the light novel \o/ Idk if I would be able to finish it before the movie is out, but so far it's not coming out in my country in cinemas, and if it does, it might take some time, so enough to finish it

Reminds me of a story i read in GRR Martin's collection Nightflyers & Othet Stories last year. "Weekend in a War Zone" (1977)
Although maybe just bc i don't read a lot of the body armor mech military stuff

god this book is so good so far. definitely a product of its time, but still so good

the dialogue flows so well in this. idk how this doesn’t get more praise cuz this is the best light novel i’ve read so far.

the prose is good and the mundane shit is so fun to read! it doesn’t just speedrun to the important parts, it actually takes its time to let you invest yourself into the story. wow, more of that plz!

why do so many light novels refuse to let the story & the characters live and breathe?
