I wonder which enjoys the best response from my understanding - words spoken to me or words read by me. Maybe, even if I knew, I am not the same as all others in this respect.

Actually, this guy has written a very accessible account of philosophy through the ages. It's nice to be able to understand it.

Philosophy, on the other hand, shows a lot more promising depth. I wonder how deep it can go. How deep the mind is. Deeper than biology I suspect.

Plato seemed like a nice chap.

Socrates - great guy! This format is great - part about the person, part about their philosophy. Have to slow down on the reading of this one because this volume is older than me and so will fall apart if I take it out and about. Shame.

Hard workz but rewarding. Author knows his stuff and he's entertaining considering this was written in the 1950's.
