Status Updates From Quirkoloji

It’s interesting, but isn’t providing me with much practical/life changing information. Some of the content, like about the fake smiles, seemed like common sense to me. However, I am still enjoying reading it and will continue.

So far this book seems very interesting. It’s a little outdated (relative to other books I’m reading) but that doesn’t affect the quality of it.

Yeah so the problem is I think this guy is actually way overestimating how good he is at spotting when people are lying.

Why is he calling this a large scale public experiment when what it actually is is a large scale voluntary response survey given at a fair

So voluntary response surveys aren't great in terms of the results they give you which tend to be highly biased

I mean yeah luck isn't real what do you want man

If you're going to cite a study and say that it's controversial tell me why it's controversial and why you feel it's worth citing anyway

So idk who needs to hear this but a professor doing a non-sanctioned "study" on his college class is not a scientifically valid study and is instead just some guy fucking with his students

Which is fine just don't pretend it's a scientifically valid experiment
