The book speaks a lot about the culture of the main characters Dian and Aracely. There's also a lot of information about the way things worked in the Dominican Republic which we can compare to other countries.

A problem is arising in the story, Aracely and Dian are going to become more separated due to the fact the Aracely is choosing to be engaged however, this affects the way Dian responds to Aracely.
