It is enlightening to read of the "justified" bigotry towards black people of the era(1840-1860) and how assured the majority was that they were still moral creatures despite their beliefs, and how it compares to the certainty that some have today that their bigotry towards LGBT people today, further ensures their entry to paradise rather than hinders that entry.
