I like the writing style and the narrator but not much is happening.

I had doubts at first because some of the characters felt flat, but Iselle, and her dynamic with Caz, made it an interesting read.

FINALLY. An actual knight story where they swear oaths, live by codes, and take their faith seriously. Way too much fantasy treats “knighthood” like an aesthetic and ignores the moral and religious weight—it lacks what makes a knight feel like a knight! 🙂

I really like Caz’s character development, or maybe that’s just who he is—an admirable hero—he’s broken that he doesn’t want to take park in any frightening situations. But when trouble comes calling, Cazaril does not flee. He rises to the occasion, driven by a sense of duty that a lesser man would never feel. 🥹
