"As far as I know, no one has ever heard Earl Scruggs tell that story."
Earl? Not tell a story where he got yanked through a hotel hall mostly unclothed by his boss? XD I can't think of a siiiiiiiingle reason why he wouldn't tell this frequently. No reason at all.

This is a wonderfully quick read. Quick read books are nice.

I love working outdoors and stuff but I would nnnnnnot enjoy doing all that stuff on top of being a full time touring musician. Bill's work ethic terrifies me, and I'm someone who's always been one of the more dogged and productive workers my friends know. I'd've been one of those Blue Grass Boys that lasted six weeks or something, much as I hate to say it.

Turning into a quick read but I'm having fun. Bob Black is succinct but gives all the information I need to feel like I'm living the first few days as a Blue Grass Boy. Sorta wild to hear how quickly he was hired, how that audition went, even if this is hardly the first account I've read where Bill did auditions just like this. It's simply wild to process, thinking about myself in the shoes of the auditioner.

"[T]he music is more important than the player. The mark of true virtuosity is the ability to make the listener notice how pretty the music is, not how gifted the musician happens to be."
